Shaun Giles-Olson

Shaun Giles-Olson is the founder, owner, and driving force behind Warrior Tree Care LLC, a premier veteran-owned tree service company serving residential and commercial properties throughout Dakota County, Goodhue County, and the surrounding Minnesota communities. With over a decade of hands-on experience in high-risk arboriculture, structural tree management, and professional urban forestry, Shaun has built a reputation grounded in extreme precision, environmental stewardship, and unwavering discipline.

Shaun’s approach to arboriculture extends far beyond simple tree cutting. As a dedicated arborist, he views every property as an interconnected ecosystem where tree health, human safety, and landscape aesthetics must remain in perfect balance. Whether executing surgical limb removals near complex utility lines or rehabilitating mature oak canopy structures after severe Midwest weather events, Shaun applies veteran-level standards to ensure every job is completed safely, cleanly, and efficiently.

A Foundation Built on Discipline, Leadership, and Technical Precision

The core ethos of Warrior Tree Care reflects Shaun’s personal background and values. Raised with a deep respect for physical work, integrity, and public service, Shaun integrated military-grade discipline directly into his business's operational DNA. Under his leadership, the crew at Warrior Tree Care operates with structured protocols, rigorous safety checks, and an uncompromising commitment to getting the job done right the first time.

Over the past decade, Shaun has mastered every facet of modern tree maintenance and hazard mitigation. His technical expertise spans advanced rigging techniques, hazardous tree assessments, canopy weight distribution analysis, precise directional felling, and state-of-the-art stump grinding procedures. While many view tree work as merely land clearing, Shaun’s approach combines structural mechanics with biological insight, ensuring that surrounding structures, turf, and remaining vegetation incur no collateral damage during complex operations.

Comprehensive Arboriculture & Environmental Stewardship

As urban landscapes expand and extreme weather patterns become more frequent across Minnesota, proactive tree management has never been more vital. Shaun prioritizes preventative care, educating local property owners on how to spot early indicators of structural weakness, disease, and parasitic infestation before a tree poses a fatal threat to nearby structures.

Shaun’s core areas of professional expertise include:

Emergency Hazard Mitigation & Storm Cleanup: When severe straight-line winds, ice storms, or heavy snowfalls cause sudden structural failures, Shaun coordinates rapid 24/7 response services to stabilize dangerous limbs, extract fallen trees from roofs, and clear access roads quickly and safely.

Precision Tree Trimming & Crown Restoration: Proper pruning requires an understanding of tree biology. Shaun specializes in deadwood removal, crown thinning to improve wind resistance, and targeted limb reduction that enhances light penetration without stressing the host tree.

Technical & High-Risk Tree Removal: For dead, dying, or structurally compromised trees in tight residential spaces, Shaun uses specialized rigging, crane equipment, and controlled lowering techniques to safely remove large timber without damaging surrounding homes or landscape design.

Full-Service Stump Grinding & Site Restoration: Removing a tree is only half the battle. Shaun ensures complete property reclamation by grinding tree stumps well below ground level, eliminating trip hazards and breeding grounds for pests, and preparing the soil for reseeding or new planting.

A Community-First Business Philosophy

Shaun believes that true leadership is demonstrated through service to others. As an active business owner in Minnesota, he takes pride in maintaining transparent communication, offering honest assessments, and delivering realistic solutions tailored to each client's specific budget and safety concerns.

Under Shaun’s guidance, Warrior Tree Care stands firmly behind a "Make It Right" guarantee. To honor those who serve the broader community, Shaun also ensures that active military personnel, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, and local teachers receive dedicated discounts on services. For Shaun, Warrior Tree Care is more than a trade—it is a platform for protecting homes, safeguarding families, and enhancing the natural beauty of Minnesota’s urban canopy.
